G.T. DEVEGOWDA PLANS MAJOR SURGERY FOR K.R. HOSPITAL
The new District in-charge Minister G.T. Devegowda has said that he would carry out a major surgery to the K.R. Hospital here.
In spite of all facilities available at the hospital, they were not being properly utilised. He had already discussed the matter with the officials of the hospital, he disclosed at a press meet here recently.
Persons injured in road accidents and other kinds of mishaps needing emergency medical attention were not being provided with emergency treatment. The injured persons were being sent to other hospitals. Necessary steps had to be taken to set right the system. All the staff of the hospital, particularly the medical personnel, should be at work in the hospital from 9 am to 4 pm. The exploitation of the poor in the hospital must be ended, Deve Gowda remarked.
The electrical transformer needed for the hospital would be installed soon. In addition, all other facilities required in the hospital would also be provided, he announced.
There was no anaesthetist in Yallamma Dasappa Hospital which was established in 1949. An anaesthetist from K.R. Hospital would soon be sent to that hospital, he disclosed. An exclusive meeting to discuss the management of K.R. Hospital would be held soon, he said.
A considerable amount of money is due to Mysore City Corporation. That included Rs.4 crore sanctioned to the civic body for meeting the Dasara expenses. Steps would be taken to release the funds, Deve Gowda disclosed.
An office to receive the public grievances would be opened at the Corporation. An officer would be nominated specially for that purpose, he added.
Meetings would be held in Mysore City Corporation and Mysore Urban Development Authority to discuss about the problems vexing the citizens of Mysore and steps would be taken to develop extensions in the city, he explained.
