HEALTH CAMP FOR SCHOOL KIDS BEGINS IN DISTRICT
A three-day mega health check-up programme for children of Government schools in the district began today.N.S. Chennappagowda, Deputy Commissioner, inaugurated the programme under the Suvarna Karnataka Arogya Chaitanya project of the State Government, at Maharani's New Type Middle School on Narayana Shastri Road.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner remarked that as it was hard to complete the task of health check-up of all the school children of the district in one location, the programme was spread out to the different schools of the district.
M.K. Kempagowda, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, disclosed that more than 7,350 children of Government schools in the district would be covered in the programme. Doctors and staff of JSS Hospital are conducting the check-up. Dr. Shanthamallappa, Head of JSS Hospital, Dr. V. Raju of the same hospital, Zilla Panchayat Health and Education Sub-Committee Chairperson Gowramma Somashekhar, Corporator Shankarappa, former Mayor M.S. Raju, former Corporator D. Nagabhushana and others were present. Block Education Officer, South Zone, Mysore is overseeing the event.
