Reminiscences-Yaadein, an audio CD of Hindi film songs rendered by Dr. A.L. Hemalatha of K.R. Hospital was released by Dr. Vijayalakshmi Basavaraj, Director, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) at a function held at Veene Seshanna Bhavana here last evening. K.R. Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Geetha Avadhani, who was the guest of honour, lauded the melodious singing of Dr. Hemalatha and compared her to noted playback singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Retired DySP J.B. Rangaswamy, who was among the audience, also spoke. K.R. Hospital Surgeon Anil Sangli, in his address, said that music has the power to revive those under coma much earlier than the normal time required. Star of Mysore Editor K.B. Ganapathy, who was among the audience, also spoke on request. He said a melodious voice was a gift from the God which would be honed with the help of a Guru.

Mysore Medical College Director Dr. D. Venkatesh presided over the programme. AIR anchor Rajeshwari and Shanthakumar compered. Kamakshi Hospital Superintendent Dr. C. Umesh Kamath welcomed. The audio CD contains songs from 16 films including Sathyam Shivam Sundaram, sung originally by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Geetha Dutt. Dr. Hemalatha entertained the audience by singing a song. H. Archana presented a music programme accompanied by Sangeetha on tabla and Bhargava on mridanga.
