To prevent and eradicate the dreaded disease Polio, the Pulse Polio campaign in Mysore District began today at 9 am in 1580 centres. Out of them 300 centres are in Mysore city and the other 1280 are located at several places in the rural areas of the district. Deputy Commissioner N.S. The doctors are learnt to have taken this decision because the hospital is not getting enough grants from the Government to provide basic amenities for the patients.

The doctors are said to be contemplating to invite philanthropists to donate ambulance, ventilators, dialysis machines, x-ray and scanning machines, generators, air-conditioners, lenses needed for eyes, life saving medicines, equipment for diabetic and high blood pressure patients and other necessary items needed in the hospital.
